Self-Catering Cottage in Blackwaterfoot, Arran- golf, tennis, riding, beautiful beach

Local Area Information

Blackwaterfoot is a small, friendly, self-contained village on the west coast of Arran. It offers some of the most beautiful views in Scotland along with a fantastic beach, an excellent riding school http://www.cairnhousestables.com/, the very best of Arran's seven golf courses http://www.shiskinegolf.com/ where you will also find excellent tennis and bowling facilities and a great wee tearoom/restaurant http://felicitysarran.co.uk/, a 3* hotel http://www.bw-kinlochhotel.co.uk/ with pool and also a childen's pool (open to the public), shops to provide all of the basic needs, a petrol station/garage and easy access to Arran's natural heritage. The King's caves and the standing stones at Machrie are within walking/cycling distance.

The road around Arran is about 58 miles long so all of the Island's many attractions can be easily reached by car within an hour and you can drive right round in two.

Arran is known as "Scotland in Miniature" with highlands in the north and lowland farms in the south. The views across Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre (and Ireland on a clear day) will take your breath away and in the summer months the sunsets go on and on.
